The Mandate
Veronix offers Recon to enterprises and organisations that need to see where manual processes create friction, where artificial intelligence can help, and where operational intelligence can be improved.
The work goes beyond a map of today. It includes advice and support for the future state: how the operation should adapt as technology and workflows advance, and what to change first so the organisation is ready for what comes next.
The consultant leads the engagement end to end: speaking with the people doing the work, auditing the process, analysing the findings, and presenting them back to the client.

The Role
The consultant identifies bottlenecks and time sinks, and maps how the company actually operates. Those operations are then ordered so specific solutions can be named: where artificial intelligence belongs, where it does not, and where operational improvements can be made without it.
From that picture, the consultant prepares a presentation — using the firm's tools and methods — that recommends solutions and delivers the findings to the client.
A typical engagement means sitting on calls with client staff, usually six to eight interviews, sometimes more. Internal documents and systems support the work by turning messy interview material into a clear account of what was found. A questionnaire kit is provided; the consultant still needs the skill to ask the right questions and run the conversation well.
The Work
Each engagement follows a defined process. The tools required for the audit are supplied.
- 01
Discovery
Confirm the scope of the engagement and which teams to interview.
- 02
Interviews
Structured sessions with operators, usually over Zoom. Typically six to eight calls, sometimes more.
- 03
Analysis
Bottlenecks, manual friction, and where AI or systems work can improve operational intelligence.
- 04
Presentation
Findings delivered to the client using the firm's presentation outline.
- 05
Continuity
After the presentation, the consultant may stay with the account to open a Vanguard conversation. If the client moves into a build, involvement may be limited to an early touchpoint, or none, depending on the engagement.
The Sequence
Engagements usually run for one to two weeks. The presentation outline and recon methodology are already in place. The consultant follows that process and works with the tools supplied for the engagement.
- Week one — Discovery and interviews
- Week two — Analysis and presentation
What You Bring
We look for consulting presence and the ability to run a precise interview. The kit supports the work; judgement still sits with the consultant.
- Interview Craft
- Comfortable on calls with client staff, and able to ask the questions that reveal how the process actually runs.
- Consulting Fluency
- Able to hold a technical or operational conversation without turning it into a sales pitch.
- Synthesis
- Six to eight sessions become a clear picture the client and the firm can act on.
- Clarity
- Findings read cleanly in the presentation and in any brief that follows.
The Ground
This role is remote. Physical client visits are only required where the engagement expands by request.
- Location
- Fully remote.
- Travel
- Physical client visits are only required where the engagement expands by request. Travel is paid. Not expected in the first months unless requested.
- Hours
- Full-time and part-time roles are available. Full-time work is limited to the United Kingdom and European timezones. Contractor roles are open in selected countries only for experienced consultants. Apply, and we will review the submission.
- Compensation
- Pay, hours, and any commission on a Recon to Vanguard conversion are confirmed on the initial call and in the final documents if you are selected. The roster moves quickly; we do not publish fixed figures against roles that are still taking shape.
